Hello fabulous humans. How is everyone? We just touched down in India, wow what a week it is has been to get to this point. Feeling grateful for sure and a bit jet-lagged, but ready to chat about phones and kids. Love them or hate them for young kids? I think it is pretty clear I am on team hate for phones for the littles. Would love to hear your thoughts.
I am very much a “you parent your way, I parent my way,” person but I often find myself wanting to say to the parent of the 1-year-old watching a movie at dinner in a restaurant “are you f*cking stupid? You are harming your child, have you read nothing!!”
Yep, I said it.
There was a time I would have felt, “well, if it makes them a better parent then tech them out so mom/dad can recharge,” I feel very different now. There are plenty of ways to recharge that don’t include changing a child’s brain for the worse. Google is helpful in this area. One great way to become a better parent is therapy, but that is a post for another time. And yes, we are a family who does therapy…it has made us better parents and happier people overall.
