The family you create is more important than the one you come from.

I read the above statement months ago and it really struck me and got me thinking. 

What do you think it means?

I had two thoughts:

First, our path forward is not defined by what we come from. We have the power within us to change cycles and change ourselves. Our destiny does not have to be our history.
